Sports Day 1957, 1958 and 1959

Whilst no good whatsoever with anything involving a ball I could sprint as fast as anyone and was not too bad at the mile and Cross Country. On one occasion I was once selected to represent the school in the 100 yard sprint at the county event. Unfortunately school bureaucracy failed to let me know and I was told there were desperate calls over the Tannoy for me to get to the starting line.

Possibly the end of the Cross Country race the clues being dirty shoes and the negative being filed under a different date to the regular Sports Day pictures. On the other hand Cross Country was a compulsory event which enjoyed so how was I able to photograph it? Maybe it was age restricted and I was in the junior race. I usually managed to be in the first half dozen or so in the Cross Country races.
