Roy Daniel began his singing career in 1958 when he and Dave Luther were at
Farnborough Grammar School where they formed their first band called The
Blackjacks. In 1958 they recorded two songs at a small studio in London’s
Denmark Street (Tin Pan Alley) called “I love Her” written by Dave and “Little
Jennie” written by Roy.
After changing their band’s name to Daniel Boone & The Renegades in 1962/63 they
recorded four other tracks: “Country Girl” and “She”, both written by Dave and
Roy and “Forever And Ever I Do“ backed with “I Miss You”. The first two tracks were
pressed on a 78rpm acetate, Nos. 3 and 4 on a 45rpm acetate.
The lineup for the last two tracks was the first ever recording by a WISHFUL
THINKING lineup: Roy Daniel, Dave Luther, Brian Allen, Roger Charles and Richard Taylor.
